i think it might've been because she surprised me and i backed my hand away after she struck at me so maybe her teeth ripped through my hand.

lol the pain, i've had paper cuts worse than that, or accidentaly rubbed a535 into my eye or accidentaly touch your manhood after applying a535 and forgetting it takes more than soap to get it off lol, that's worse than any snake bite by far!! :carrot:

I can only imagine and sympathize with the pain. I was tagged about a month ago by a 6 foot carpet python. To add insult to injury, she clamped down on my arm twice, first on the inner wrist, then she let go, and then he clamped down on my fingers and then she stopped. All I wanted to do was change her water bowl. Apparently my warm wrist was inciting :P (she was on the other side of the cage from the bowl, facing the door). I bruised from the bites as well.

Yep if you pulled back at all it probally made it a lot worse. They really are not that bad if you don't resist but if you pull against those curved teeth you get a cutting in addition to the punctures. It is hard to do but the best response is don't move and wait for them to let go, easier said then done sometimes.
My wife Dorothy got her first bite from one of my small nippy house snakes last month. The snake is a biter and has bit me several times barely drawing blood if at all. My wife jerked back and pinwheeled the little red gal! She bled a LOT for such a small snake and to quote her, "it stung a bit", this from a lady who got stung twice in the lip by yellow jackets and never complained.
