    Soldering flexwatt...
    i bought a bunch of flex and forgot to add the clips. i attempted to solder the wires to the flex but it was a little difficult. anyone ever used anything besides the clips?

    Soldering the wires to the FW isn't to difficult. If you didn't, first cut or melt away the plastic over the section you plan to solder your power cord to. After that its just a matter of getting the wire covered with enough solder to hold it on to the strip of FW. It helps if you have another pair of hands or something to hold things in place for you...take care in what you use and where you use as the heat from the solder iron can and will transfer. Make sure you cover the exposed solder areas and any exposed wire and your set.

    Ok i thought there was plastic over the metal part. i'll do a better job of melting it away and try again. i think that was my problem, the solder wasn't sticking because of the plastic. thanks.

    use a razor...slice a neat square to peel the top plastic off the metal strip...do it lightly and be careful not to use a lot of pressure.
