Bumble Bee & Powder Blue Update
Re: Bumble Bee & Powder Blue Update
Wow,
Those tanks (and frogs natch) look totally stunning.
What sexes did you get again and are you planning on trying to breed them?
Do you use an automatic misting system or anything to keep the moss and plants growing so well?

Thanks, Del. I should take a couple pics of their full tanks to show the whole setups. I spray them both every couple of days and water the more demanding plants and moss every week or two. I can't determine their sex yet, but I plan on pairing them up when I know. I'm not worried about whether or not they breed, but I'll give them the opportunity.

Yes they eat a ton every day. I breed flightless fruit flies, and the 5 of them go through about 100-150 a day. Luckily, breeding flies is really cheap and easy. I have them in a 10 and 20 gallon aquarium with custom made acrylic lids and fan vented, multiple tube light hoods.

I really love PDF. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They are really great looking I might in a couple of years try and get a little set up for them. The only thing is the fruit flys.
Great looking frogs. GREAT GREAT looking frogs

Thanks. I need some better pics. The tincs are finally getting bolder and coming out more, so I'll try to get some group shots and show both vivs in their entirety. I can stare at either viv for hours (and I don't even do drugs :) ).
Re: Bumble Bee & Powder Blue Update
I just got a pair of powder blues as well, charming little guys huh?
To everyone complaining about fruit flies, it's really not that big a deal. Breeding them takes five minutes a week and you can order new cultures for like $5.
Python, is that a tillandsia in your leucomelas tank? I've heard those do really poorly with the high humidity and low drainage of a dart tank, unless planted in a huge aquarium right next to the light.
