Well I just got my first snake bite

From my new RTB...no pics sorry...man thats not that painful it just scared me SO much.

Well, now you only have to be bit 2 more times and you can be considered a true snake enthusiast. :P just kidding.

Aren't you glad you got the suspense over with now? lol

wait till the bugger gets 5'+ and bites you...

I have a "handful" of snakes...and have yet to be bit. But I'm every bit the enthusiast...just can read my animals VERY well.:P

I'll send you one of my rainbows, I can read him well, but if he needs to be moved, you just sit tight and bite your lip, 'cause it's coming, there's no stopping it. Well there is, it's just sometimes... oh well you know what I mean. He's definitely a handful.


But congrats on the bite, it happens, and probably will again, glad you didn't find it to be too awful.

oh shes just a wee little baby, maybe 2 ft.

so, the reason she bit me is...shes reeeeaaally mean. That was my 3rd attempted pick up. Any time I get close to her at all, she hisses. The guy I bought her from said that she always hisses but is fine one she is out of the tank...she was not fine. She did not stop hissing, then she freakin bit me, any ideas on how to stop this?

lol. Time and patience is the only way. Make her feel as secure as possible in her cage and keep handling sessions short until she starts to calm down. Try some thick gloves as well until she stops biting.
