Going on a trip for two weeks what should I do with my snakes?
I’m going on a trip for two weeks and none of my friends want to feed my snakes. I have a friend who is going to change their water every day and clean their cages. Should I worry about not feeding my snakes for 2 weeks? My other option is to leave them at the vet for two weeks but they are charging me 480$ to keep my snakes and I have to move all my enclosures to the vet office. My snakes are a 7month old ball python, 4-5 month old milk snake and a 4 month old red tail boa. Please answer as soon as possible because I’m leaving tomorrow in the morning. Thanks :)

They'll be fine. So long as you have someone making sure they have fresh water and that nothing goes amiss with their housing....that's all they need. Missing two weeks of meals is like us skipping breakfast. ;) Enjoy your vacation!

If it was me I would just not feed them.

I wouldn't really worry about it. Two weeks is not actually a long time. :D

I agree with everyone. As long as you have someone checking the cages daily and changing water I wouldn't worry. When I go away I worry more about there being a freak electricity outage than who is going to feed them.

My problem when I go on vacation is I have no one to change water or clean cages, just someone who is willing to check temps and make sure no freak elec outages or equip. breakdowns.
I am usually gone about from sat. to sat. so all I can do is fill up the water bowls and hope for the best. I usually don't feed the week before I leave that way I am home to clean up any soils in the cage from the last feeding before I leave and usually my snakes seem to drink alot after feeding and not so much later in the week.

Just like they can go w/o food for a couple of weeks they can go w/o water for a short spell also. I had a rescue female that as a juvie went w/o out food and water for over 4 mos in a cold trailer in upstate NY in a 30 gal tank w/ an adult bp. Both made it and I know the female is doing great and actually breeding. Not saying tis ok to leave w/o water just saying they are built to get by for short spells.

I do worry about them as if I had left my child home w/ a sitter :)
