Half shedding

Hi my python came out to greet me today from under his hide and I noticed his head has shed but the rest hasn't or his body has a patchy shed. I mist the tank every other day. Do pythons usually shed in bits. I'm only worried because all my other snakes shd in one piece except for my bearded dragon who sheds in bits. Should I bathe him or anything?

Usually with the proper husbandry and humidity management they shed cleanly. That might be in one piece or several, but it all comes off. Sometimes if a snake is new to an owner, hasn't had good care in the past or isn't physically in great shape it will have a poor shed. Sometimes it's just one or two, here or there, and a rare few will always shed poorly but the vast majority do just fine.

You might just want to give the enclosure and the snake a good misting and see if he/she can get the rest off themselves. If not Christie's thread on what to do to deal with a bad shed will be extremely helpful to you.
