    Hi wil3284,

Glad to see you got that sorted out - for future reference it might be an idea to put a line or two between the pictures to prevent the forum layout getting messed up in some browsers. :)

Not all of us use smart software.

i was just curious, nothing against the poster, but isn't soaking before a shed not so good for a snake. i read that if you soak them before the shed you are diffusing out the fluid that helps them shed. i don't know if this is true but it's why i only soak if my guy had a bad shed. then the excess moisture will help lift the old skin that is left on.

if i am mistaken please someone correct me.

Never heard of that? If your snake is having a bad shed it's because humidity is too low. Higher humidity or soaking is always a good idea, it also helps them hydrate. Lots of snakes will soak themselves in their water bowl when in shed or too warm. Just make sure water is not too hot or cool. I try be 88-90 degrees.

You might want to put a DUW note with a post like this. The dial up people are suffering dearly.

VPI's book details how too much water can be harmful during a shed for a snake. I have the book in the car, but later on today I will quote the actual section that details this. This is usually more the case in hatchlings than adults though if I remember correctly.

well i dont know about that but he has been like this for quite some time. i just got him last week, i saved him from neglect. he hasnt eaten in like 7 months nor did he have a heat lamp. his eyes have had that for 4 months so im soaking him to see if he can get it off and to see if he was dehydrated and if that is the reason why he is not eating.
