    Double Clutching
Interested to know of anyone who has intentionally put two males to there female to try see if they get a double clutch.

looking for type ( ie what morph , norm or other ) of male's and female.....and more interestingly ...what the actual clutch ended up as.

    TIA

I'm assuming you mean multiple sires for the same clutch, and not multiple clutches in a single season (the widely used definition of double-clutch).

This season I bred a pastel male and a spider male to a pastel female, but only got babies sired by the spider.

Don't confuse "double clutch"-ing with having 2 males sire offspring in the same clutch.

Double-clutching is the slang term for what is most commonly known in corn snakes, where females lay back to back clutches in one season.

I think what you are asking is if you breed 2 males to the same female, can both males have offspring in the clutch. The answer is YES, and it has been done many times. There's been a few posts on here with breeders who have experienced this.

got it in one peeps...meant two sire's one dam ...ideally looking for number of eggs produced ...with break down of morphs hatched from clutch ....sex ratio is unimportant

whoa this is pretty interesting...couple questions.

IS that really bad for the female? Like she would have to be a big girl right? Are chances of complications or dying higher during birth?
    Is this a recommended process?

    Re: Double Clutching
I am personally expecting a couple clutches to have several sires.

I was impatient towards the end, and threw everyone in with everyone...

So, at the end of the month, I will let you see what comes out!

It is not unhealthy for the female, as long as she is the right breeding weight.

As a friend of mine who is no longer a friend used to say "It's just sex.. It doesn't matter with who."

I think some people are misunderstanding what we're talking about here... Just because you've got multiple sires for a single dam doesn't mean that you're going to get more eggs. it just means that there's a chance that some of the eggs fertilized will be from different sires.

    ^^^^^ Spot on .

It will NOT increase the egg count , or , as LadyOhh said, harm a healthy female ( had to giggle at the image you created in my head lass, a Royal Royale Free for all ! )

Bet ya cant wait till they hatch G/L
