    Wsidom Teeth
So I just got told Im gonna have to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. They arent even through the gum yet, so theylll preetty much dig in to my gums, then pull the teeth out! Ouch! Im so blown about this, Im not really scared, but doesnt this happen when your older, like 18? Im 14! Share any stories you may have about wisdom teeth pulling, might as well hear all the things that can go wrong or how bad it will hurt :taz:

Sometimes they go ahead and remove the wisdom teeth before they've grown in and become a problem for your other teeth...

They aren't fun to get removed, I'll tell you that. When I had mine removed, my cheeks swelled up and were bruised for a little over a week. :O

    Anyway, good luck! :)

I only had 3! But I just had them removed a week ago. Trust me get them pulled before they grow out, they can be the cause of damage in more areas than your mouth. And then just eat lots of ice cream :)

I had that done a few months ago. If they are still in the gums they will surgically remove them. You will be put completely under. It wasn't that bad. I was down and out for a day. Just have to be careful wit the foods you eat for a while and definetly follow their care instructions. If you don't flush the sockets and pack them properly you could get dry socket.

I did get sick from the pain killers they gave me so I quit taking them. The only thing I took the whole time was ibuprofen 600 mg. I felt only slight discomfort.

    You'll be fine.

Everyone told me the process was really easy and painless... psssh! Liars! Lol... I don't know if I had a bad experience or what, but I had to have the exact same thing done: they actually put me out for the process.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke up sobbing. Don't know why, but I cried the whole way home. Cried for another hour, then went back to sleep. That may have been the drugs wearing off... but I didn't eat for the rest of the week because I hurt so bad.

The nastiest part, to me, was anytime I DID eat anything, I had to clean out the little pits in my gum by shooting water into them. UGH! It HURT! And it was a nuisance and gross! Lol... Get them all done and overwith, cause I'd not want to go through that again.

EDIT: And now I feel like a wuss, ya'll. :P

A couple years ago I had all four on my wisdom teeth removed and a cyst removed (got hit with a soccer ball pretty hard to the face). I was very nervous about the whole thing, when I went in I sat in the chair, the doc came in and gave me an IV, next thing I know Im waking up. The first day I was fine but the second day there was some pain, but not much.

Well, I had all four removed at 19...had to be surgical, they were impacted.
Definitely the sooner the better, if they are a problem. The longer you wait the more the roots dig in.

Mine was -not- that bad...I was knocked completely out, and next thing I remember I was drooling chocolate ice cream down my chin. The most painful part was my temporo-mandibular joint...I guess they had to really pry my mouth open, because it hurt to move my jaw for the next couple of weeks. The sockets themselves were sore but not unbearable...I ate soup for a few days and then soft food. Opening and closing my mouth hurt a lot more than the actual extraction sites.
I had no complications, and the bottle of pain pills they sent home went unused.
