    question about tub setup????
i have a rubbermaid container and I'm new to the tub setup and i know the ambient temp should be 80-84 on the cool but my basement is cold 70f i have 2 uth's on a thermostat one uth is covering 3/4's of the tank and its set at 83 and the other quarter is 91 but the ambient temp is 79..i haven't bought the snake yet... will the absorb enough heat to stay healthy or what can help?

Where are you measuring the 83 and 91 temps? On the substrate, in a hide, other?

Though not ideal a 79 ambient is OK if you have a couple of hides that are higher (like a warm side hide at 91 and a cool side hide at 83).

If your basement stays 70 during the summer you might have a bigger issue come winter. What does your winter temps run?

You should be OK as long as the snake can pick the desired temp. Keep identical hides on both temps so he doesn't pick a favorite(more comfortable) hide.
