    just wondering if it is safe to place a 16in. male in with a 40in. female. . .

    only temporarily. . . a week or less until i can get him a setup

    I think alot of people including me will tell you, Negative. Snake's shouldnt be kept together unless breeding. Thats just my opinion though. :)

    You should always get a setup before puchasing an animal, just for the future. But to solve your problem, a tub might be a better temporary solution if you can regulate heat and humidity. Try to get your setup done asap is all I can help with other than the tub idea. But you should never house snakes together, not even temporarily.

    Absolutely not! A new addition should ALWAYS be quarantined from your established snake for 60-90 days.

    We recently had a member who didn't quarantine, and his newer snake showed some nuerological disorders and died. Now he has to wait to see if his established female may also die, since he didn't quarantine.

    Don't add new animals on impulse if you don't already have a separate enclosure set up in a quarantine area. Plan ahead, always!
