    Feeding frenzy
And it's not so much her as ME! Man I get so frazzled when I feed her.

Today was her second feed with me and (once I remembered to put her hide in the feeding box) she took that hopper like lightning takes a tree. No problems with her eating so far, the problem is how nervous I get hoping she won't regurgitate the mouse when I've put her back in her home tank. I guess it comes from having a red-checkered garter snake a year or so ago that would toss it all back up if you walked in front of his cage too quickly.

Now, before anyone asks why I feed her in another enclosure, it's mostly because her home tank has branches and fake plants for her pleasure (she LOVES to climb while cruising) and the mouse grabs hold of the leaves, branches, probe wires, anything! That scares Nagini when her stuff is being yanked around by the mouse, so I made a 90% covered 'cafe' for her to eat her meals in. It's worked wonderfully so far, but I get nervous about how startled she looks when I scoop her up to put her back in her tank. Oh well...so far so good.

Sorry about the rant, I just wanted to get that out to people who understood. :)

How long do you give her before you put her back in her home tank?

I wait until the mouse is totally swallowed and past her throat and she has started to curl up before I even open the cage. Then I very slowly scoop her up and put her back.
    Hope I'm doing things right.

that sounds fine, as long as your snake is eating and not regurgitation, i don't see anything wrong with that

Thanks a lot. :) I guess it'll just take time for me to get over my feeding time nerves after that garter. He's the only other snake I ever personally owned. I guess it's a 'the snake is YOURS now' thing. :)
