How should you place the holes and how many for tub setup?
I just got everything i need for my tub setup so I can take My BP out of the glass tank, which temps aren't staying consistent in. But I don't know how to place the air holes the temps are reading 86.4 on cool end and 94.5 on heated end water bowl is in middle newspaper is substrate I have an acurite thermometer with indoor reading and outdoor probe reading indoor reading also gives you humidity. The base with humidity is on the cool side and probe end in the hide on heated side! I just need to start puttin holes in with soulder gun i have put some on cool end and thats it so far I wanted to make sure I am doing this correctly! Any advice on hole placement or anything else I may need to change???? HELP

I just put a single row along the top of each side with each hole an inch or two apart. Works well for me and maintains good humidity.

The holes are sort of trial and error. I would start with 4-5 per side (on the side of the tub is typically the most common location for them). Once done wait a day and see how your temps/humidity settle out. If still high add a couple more holes, then wait again. Keep doing this till you dial it in.

If for some reason you get too many holes use tape (on the outside of the tube) to cover them.

Unfortunately there isn't a hard fast rule for how to do it. :)

I use a drill and a thin piece of plywood to make a template and just use the soldering pencil to burn the holes, IMO with the template it makes the holes alot cleaner and nicer then without it.

    Pegboard also works well, too.
