wow you dont see very many of those anymore. Weren't they the african grey of yesteryears? In regards to their popularity and talking ability I mean?

I heard a story of one once that was in a pet shop and the owner said to it, "you're a dirty bird" and the bird replied, "no, you're a dirty old man."

Dont know if it's true or not but I cracked up laughing.

and yeah they were once the african grey of yesteryear due to the popularity and talking ability , they have very clear voices not croaky or any thing its just like a human voice

Oh does your Jack bring back childhood memories for me! Where I grew up our local pet shop had Soc the Mynah bird. Soc was amazing and had a huge vocabulary! It was a standard Saturday trip to town which had to include a stop to talk to Soc. He was very smart, seemed to understand the reactions to certain words and sounds. He's wolf whistle only at females for instance and seemed to take evil joy in meowing if there were dogs in the store just to get them all going. Poor dear thing got really depressed one time when the store had a very talkative African Grey in and Soc lost the spotlight for a bit. Boy did Soc hate that bird LOL. When it sold, Soc perked right back up. He was a great bird and a huge draw for that pet store for many, many years.

Soc sounds wonderful , i remember you talking on here before about him,
Mynahs are soo damn intelligent it unreal , my jack always without fail lets out a real load shouting noise if a certain person is in the same room as him , i think jack knows the guy dont like the noise because as soon as he leaves the room , jack returns to his soft little cooing noises and speaking again lol , also i feed jack mealworms and crickets as treats , i put them in one of those thin plastic containers that crickets come in and he will examine the box at all angles before he works out how to open the box lol....then its instant death to the mealies and crickets lol

Cool, I love mynah birds, their talking ability is just amazing. Too bad there aren't more breeders (I've searched before and not come up with much)

Starlings are another amazing talking bird.
