Temp Husbandry...

I need to know what a good idea for a Temp. Husbandry, it just needs to last till the 15th of July. I don't have any lighting or anything, any ideas? I will be able to purchase everything on the 15th, but till then, was is some good ideas?

i don't really understand your question. you need temporary housing for a ball python, but you cant buy things till the 15th?

IF I understand your question correctly...you need some sort of temporary housing for your ball python until July 15th when you can get it into a permanent home?

If that's the case....head out to WalMart (or similar store) and pick yourself up a shallow plastic tub with a snap-on lid. Melt some holes at the ends and around the sides with a soldering iron (or drill them...but this risks cracking the tub). Use newspaper or papertowels as a substrate. Toss in a hide and a water dish.....place in a room that will maintain ~80-85 temps.....and you'll be golden.

(Oh...and make sure that lid is secure! LOL)

ok thank you, i was wondering about Temps... how do i keep a consistant temp in there? I have them in my home, and i run the ac at about 70 degrees... i don't want them to freeze in the tub, so what would you sugest?

a human heat pad might work, but they are not made to run all the time. (i have never used one). if you can get a controlled room like 80-85, it might help. maybe a closet and a space heater?

for my temp housing i have a plastic tub like what Judy described, and i have a zoomed UTH attached with 8 sheets of paper taped to the sides of the tubs( so no tape is on the heating element, just the paper, which is holding the UTH to the tub). then i use a lamp dimmer to control the UTH to nice levels. some paper towels, a sturdy bowl for water, and a kleenex box for a hide and you're good to go.

I have used a human heating pad in the past for weeks at a time. I generally wouldn't recommend this, but in a crunch it'll do. My biggest fear was burning down the house though, not hurting the animals.
