    Selling a WC?
Are there rules against selling wild caught herps? Or does it depend on what state you are in? I was really bored and was just thinking about whether that could be illegal in some way. And if you were allowed to sell them? How would you go about doing it? Would you just list them on kingsnake.com?

in some states owning and/or selling indigenous species is illegal. i think there are also laws in some states about taking or shipping wild caught animals across state lines. are you thinking about catching herps around where you are and then selling them? why exactly would you want to do that?

No, I wasn't planning on it. I have just been helping this guy out by putting his old picture slides onto his computer which is very monotonous and boring and has given me about 10 hours to think of random stuff. I don't have any need to do this myself. I was just curious.

Don't lump all WC into the same group. Not all are as bad as you make it sound.
This male is a WC adult. Came in last Nov. He is more tame than some of my CB ones and eats f/t.

Granted WC are not for everyone but if you have some experience with them, they are not all that bad.

Well it depends on what you are talking about really. It's one thing to sell a wild caught ghana import BP, it's quite another to sell some snake you grabbed up out of your yard. Personally though I don't think anyone should be selling any wild caught snake, import or not, until they've got it reasonably established (and ascertained it's a legal species to keep and sell of course)...made sure it is healthy, got it eating, etc. It's not nice to make a profit off your problem snake or make money off a snake that's about to become someone else's problem.
