Rat behavior
My rats seem to sleep in a pile on top of the igloo hut thing. I hardly ever see them in the actual igloo, is this normal? Do they actually use hides?

Re: Rat behavior
LOL to cute. I only have three pet rats and each take turns sleeping on the igloo, they don't pile on it.

Re: Rat behavior
Well how cute! It may be that all three can't fit in there comfortably or that it's just too dang out to be in a plastic hide with three rats piled in it LOL. If they want to use it they will, if not it seems to make a lovely rattie bunkbed. :)

Thats so cute. I think rats are adorable and my mom just is so scared of the ones i brought home. She thinks their tails are creepy, oh well she'll learn to love em

Re: Rat behavior
These things do something else that I think is hilarious. They will go up to the bars and wait for me to stick a lab block through. They snatch it up, run it into the igloo, and come back for another. After a couple blocks I give them they run back in the igloo and arange the food in this nice little pile.
It's pretty funny to watch

Re: Rat behavior
We had a female rat for awhile who would run to the food bowl, remove every single piece of lab block (ignoring all the other yummy dry things), pile it all in one corner, then sit on it so the other rats couldn't see her "stash" LOL I swear the other female rats all thought she was nuts as they happily munched on the nuts, raisins, and other far more exciting foods while she plopped her big butt on the boring old lab block.

Re: Rat behavior
Try hanging one of the ferret hammocks from the bars, mine used to all cram in the hammock with tales and feet hanging out everywhere.
