Here are a just of few of the hundreds and hundreds I raised.

    Male 'Diego Suarez'.

    Male 'Sambava'.

Hatchling 'Diego Suarez' sitting on a pencil for a size reference.

As for their color changing abilities here is a photo of a male 'Diego Suarez' in his normal green, relaxed coloration.

Here is the same male 2 minutes later after being shown another male and getting "fired up".

Here's my Male at around 9 months old http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...Picture212.jpg

I'll see if I can get a pic of him tonight/tomorrow for a more accurate color refrence. It's amazing at how much color they gain when they start to grow into adulthood.

For a beginner herper I would say that their requirements can be quite overwhelming, lol. But if you've kept your fair share of reptiles, then they shouldn't be a problem. They do require high humidity, and temp ranges from 85-90 in the basking area, while the ambient air temps can be anywhere in the 80's, and at night it can drop down to the 70's. Here in the spring time and early summer I move his cage outside in a partally shaded area to get some natural sun, and here in Oklahoma we get pretty high humidity at this time of year. Indoors, I have to spray him down at least 3 times a day.

Here's a good care sheet from the breeders that i bought my chameleon from, I found it very informative and very helpful.

haha ya. I just have BP's for now, but snakes seem waaay easier to care for than a cham. ^_^

I like to think of chameleons as a display animal, kind of like fish. You don't have your fish pal around with you, or try to pet them. You sit there and watch them and feed them, same goes for chameleons.

They aren't too difficult to take care of, just maintenance heavy and you just have to do it right. MBD is a big problem if they don't get UVB or D3 supplements. They need to have ample amounts of water, yet they don't drink out of bowls. So an automatic mister or dripper is a must. You always have to have live food on hand, such as crickets, silkworms, superworms, roaches, etc.

I kept and breed panthers for 5 years and personally, I would rather care for 12 ball pythons than 2 or 3 chameleons. Yet I think panthers are 12 times cooler. So it's just what your priorities are... :salute:

The care sheets from screameleons or bluebeastreptiles are great guides to go off of.

I agree 100% with you. The only time that I handle my chameleon is when I take him out to do cage maintainence or when he goes to the vet. Man, I only have 1 chameleon and he's a handfull in himself, so I can't even imagine having to take care of multiple chams!
