    will uth melt plastic?
I did a search and couldn't find anything related. Can a uth be placed directly on a hard plastic enclosure? I have a glass setup and know the heat won't damage it but wasn't too sure on plastic. If it will damage the plastic, what is the best way to place the mat on the enclosure? Thanks for any info.

Not if you keep it on a thermostat.

Nope, no damage to the plastic unless it's not on a thermostat.

What they said. Never run any heating element unless it's on a thermostat.

A good thermostat. Not a cheap 30 dollar thermostat. Those things are pretty unreliable.
