    ok i have 7 females and 2 males and a bunch of babys from 5 of the females the last two females are with the males right now as we speak but last night i was feeding and checking in on my rats and i found more newborn ASF from females that had there babies two weeks ago and were still feeding there old babies has anyone here ever heard of this or seen this happen.

    I'm not sure this is even possible!? Two weeks between litters...even if it could happen it seems there would be alot of dead babies...or a dead mother! Your sure they didn't come from another female? My female groups give birth pretty close together within a week or two at most. It is highly unlikely that A: a female rodent can carry two separately fertilized litters. B: two weeks is not enough time for gestation of a second litter.

    positive because i keep then all seperate(SP) one female and one male for breeding then once she has her babies i remove the male so she is all alone with her babies

    That is truly odd my friend, if they are all separated and individually kept I guess there's no way to confuse one litter with another.

    thats what has me and the wife wondering what in the _______ happen and how did it happen and the two mother rats and there babies are doing good i did pull out the two week old babies and placed them with other moms to play it safe.
