    Feeder Rabbits in Canada
    Hey,

I'm looking into a BCI or BCC at some point in the future.
From what I've heard you need to give them rabbits at a certain size.

I live in New Brunswick, Canada and can't seem to find anyone who has feeder rabbits near by, and when I explain to anyone what it is/and what its for they don't like that at all.

I found a website called "rodent pro" that has feeder rabbits but they seem to only ship in the US.

anyone have any suggestions?? or could I just keep the boa on jumbo rats?? Id have to feed more often too eh? and I dont want it to bite my hand off because it's hungry.

You are good with jumbo rats. BCIs and BCCs never need to get onto rabbits or guinea pigs, those are just what some keepers choose.

Usually, the BCIs and BCCs get large because they are fed on the rabbit/guinea pig diet, not because they have become large and are chosen to be fed on them.

BTW, if you do find a rabbit breeder or a farm with rabbits, just say that you will eat the rabbits yourself, and so you will relieve the sellers from disagreement. Same goes for chickens. Don't tell these people what they don't need to know and that way they won't jump on you.

JUMBO rats. Wicked I can handle that.

I own a rabbit as a pet and it's hard for me to picture me feeding the boa a rabbit. Just weird...

Thanks... This makes me want one even more now!

If you ever did want to go with rabbits simply find a meat rabbit producer. They aren't likely to care whether you or a snake eats the rabbit as these are bred for food and never meant for the pet trade. They also raise meat breeds, one of the more common being the New Zealand Whites, which have a higher meat to bone ratio.
