    Talk About Agressive Feeder
I'm wondering if anybody else has ever been stormed as soon as opening the tub? Lustro flew out of the tub and was eyeing me down like a piece of meat before. I had to fend him off back into his tub so I could just drop the rat on in the tub; where he then proceeded to attack it visciously off the floor

He really caught me by surprise, trusty snake hook

Rich we have one 05 female here that has Mike and I trained like the bloody SWAT team...."okay...you whip off the lid....I'll toss the mouse in the corner...you drop that dang lid FAST!....ready....on my count...." Dori will "help" you get her mouse in there if you aren't fast enough LOL.

My spider Baba Ganoush is ferocius feeder. You have to be super fast or else! Last week he actually was hanging over the side of the tub coiled around his rat. I snapped a picture with my camera phone. I haven't downloaded it yet, but if it turns out decent I'll post the pic.

Yep, Fate- feeding her is a two person operation also. Quick little bugger but has a great feeding response. Cleaning her tub or giving her fresh clean water is dangerous too but not as bad as when she knows food is coming. I swear she knows the moment I walk in the house with her dinner. One of these days, Fate is going jump up and bite me :P Thankfully Karma doesn't like to bite- WHEW!

Yup, Torhild, pet name "Hammer". As soon as the tub slides open, her head shoots out. I'm a wuss and don't have tongs....I kinda drop the rat in her direction and she snatches it out of the air. Once she's distracted by squeezing, I push her back in so I can close the tub. She's never missed a rat yet.

She's the same one who hit a vein in my wrist when she bit me and gave me a huge purple bruise for days...hungry hungry girl.

I can get her out and clean her though...I just watch her carefully. If she keeps eating at this rate, she'll get her first boy this fall. :-)

    Jo,

This is hilarious. I was a rookie SWAT team member tonight then because I was totally taken by surprise. I had rat dangling from my left hand and my right hand was searching for my snake hook; meanwhile Lustro was coming straight for me like he was ready to jump for it. Had to zorro him back in.

Funny to hear stories only herpies like us would appreciate :D

I wasn't even feeding two days ago, and Dandylion came flying out! (I only opened it 2 inches for heavens sakes!!) She's still miffed that she missed a week of food while I was out of town. But otherwise she's exactly the same EVERY week. You gotta have that food ready to drop the absolute second you slide that tub open. :O

The other day, one of my females did that, it wasn't even feeding day. She was all in the S position ready to strike. I calmed her down and then took her out. Tense moments : )

I think I remember Jamie posting pics of a few of his doing the hanging out of the tub coiled on prey thing. Amazing how these relatively lazy, slow moving snakes can become pure energy when they are hunting.
