To tell you the truth, I would rather buy the corn in person then have it shipped. Shipping is $45+ and the snake is about 20-30 dollars. But if you want to buy one off the net, then yes, shipping snakes is very trustworthy, thats the way most breeders sell snakes. Just make sure you buy from a reputable breeder.

you can check your local herp society for some breeders in your area... just do a google search. or try and find a reptile show around, that is probably your best bet, you can pick it out in person and no shipping.

I am not that educated about this; but isn't there something called pop-eye or big-eye that these snakes exhibit? I wold be sure to buy from a trustworthy breeder who won't sell you a snake that could be het for this defect; but then again I am not that well versed on it..

I haven't heard of many corns exhibiting the bug-eyed trait. You might be thinking of the Leusistic Texas Rat snake. These often have the bug eyes and they look similar to the snow or blizzaed corn. Somebody let me know if I'm wrong about it not being much of a concern for corns.
For the OP, I would also find a local breeder, since shipping would cost more than the actual snake. These are both pretty popular, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding one. The difference is the type of Anery used with the amel. to make the double reccessive baby. The colors also vary from one snake to the next, so I would just pick one out that caught my eye. Both are nice looking snakes in my opinion.

Bug eye is not found in corns. For a snow corn you will expect to get one in a range of 20-45 Dollars, depending on hets. And for a blizard 40-65 dollars, maybe cheaper.

I like blizzards better then snows, snows have too much yellow on them as adults. I was looking for a blizzard last year but got impatient and ended up with a snow instead, I'm still debating on keeping her.
I've had a few corns shipped, never had a problem.

Im surprised you havent found any breeders in your area. I gotta say that it is prob the most common snake around here at shows. Maybe its just MI. IDK :sunny:

If you are looking for good corns you should try posting in the cornsnakes.com forum! Lots of great breeders are there and can point you in the right direction!
Also I have gotten great corns from HomeGrownHerps.com (I think - if not just google home grown herps :) ) - very reliable! :) Good luck! I have a little snow motley female she's a delight!

Not always true about the yellow, there are some blizzards that have quite a bit of yellow and some snows that have very little yellow. So as a general rule, yes snows will have more yellow, but it's not set in stone.
And, yes, check out cornsnakes.com; that's a cornsnake forum that has tons of great info and tons of great, trust-worthy breeders.
