i think the media.....

needs to stop showing dead bodies on the news! especially in murder cases! for one thing, most murderers like the attention, and seeing pics of their work all over the television is just going to encourage them more! stupid! and, yes, it's only cable tv, not local, that does it, but so what? if a family has cable, what's to stop a 5 year old (who probably isn't allowed to watch horror movies) looking for spongebob to stumble onto a shot of a woman lying limp on a chair and a pool of blood on the floor? and if he gets scared and doesn't tell anyone what he saw? or if he does tell someone, but they don't know what to say to him? poor kids gonna have a really rough time of it! and personally, i'd really rather not see it! i don't think it's neccesary to show it. i think a brief description of the body is more than enough to get a visual! that's really bad enough in my opinion!

sorry.... just had to blow some steam... it just really bugs me to see it!

I am not bothered by "A and E documentary" typs of stuff.. But yeah, if it is something recent, that appals me. If it were my relative or loved one being paraded around dead on TV and they had just been murdered, I would be more hurt than I already was. But in retrospect, it can be informative to see shows regarding past tragedies, and sometimes actual footage makes it hit home. Usually this type of stuff is shown at night when hopefully, most kids are getting their needed sleep..
I am not a fan of censoring unpleasantries.. but if it is a fresh crime, people need to grieve; plastering their dead loved ones all over the place lying in a pool of blood is pretty callous.

well, what brought on this rant was last night, i was sitting down, eating dinner, and flipping thru the channels and saw a dead woman. not pleasant. a singer i think. i've never heard of her but i think her last name was clarkson.... just seemed so wrong to me.... didn't finish eating....

I agree, a simple "So and so was found dead near the ex location after being gunned down by a gang of blanks" and end it at that, no photos, no footage, just maybe volunteer speakers that loved said person and law enforcement posting a bulletin for the capture of said murderer.

I really hate it though, when they show pics of grieving family/friends.. this is just sick and I do not like to see that. i swear, if someone I know were killed and they were pointing cameras at me grieving, I would go OFF on them..
