Getting a jungle carpet

well i have decided to get a juvie jungle carpet, i have done a ton of research and i think i am experianced enough. any tips from you people who have them? i currently have a brb and the habitat seems pretty similar correct?

I don't have one but I do know that you can never do enough research. From some of my research it seems that Jungle Carpet Pythons are more forgiving than Brazilian Rainbow Boas. If I remember correctly, BRBs need a higher humidity. I know these caresheets might help you out. This is a caresheet from this website that was written by NERD. They know their stuff.

This is from Anthony Caponetto Reptiles. He is one of the most successful JCP breeders in the country.

If you haven't checked those out, I suggest you do because those are probably the best places I think you can find a Carpet Python Caresheet.

Why do you want a juvie over a hatchling? I was just wondering. And one more thing... make sure you buy from a reputable breeder. Buying from a good breeder ensures that you will end up with a quality animal in the end. :)

thanks, actually it is a hatchling and as far as my brb he is the most gentle snake i have ever owned. thanks for the links.

I have heard that all CPs can be nippy when young. As far as care goes, I wouldn't keep tropical, but rather sub-tropical humidity levels for the JCP. And remember that they are semi-arboreal and so a taller cage will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, young carpets can be nippy at a young age but tend to outgrow this as they get bigger and more time is spent handling them.

You will want to keep them drier than you would your BRB. They are from isolated rainforests surrounded by more open grasslands. But, since they are aboreal, they will not need as much humidity as the BRB does being a ground dweller.
A perch is a great idea, if room permits; although it is not necessary.

No I meant the carpet python ;). I was asking why you wanted a Juvie Carpet Python over a hatchling. Just wondering

Anthony Caponetto says he keeps JCP's and balls with the same setup but I notice he also recommends the lower temps. I find it kind of hard to run the cage so cool after getting so used to BP temps.
