    spots on eggs ok?
Am I just being paranoid? Do healthy day-old eggs have these spots?

Someone with more egg experience will need to help...but my question is I thought you were going to go with the substrateless method...why the change?

I will xplain. I was going to go substrateless but the problem was, there was so much condensation with the overmoist substrate, in the egg tubs. As a solution, I mixed eprlite and vermiculite, and tinkered with it until I got the right humidity with little condensation. I just think that the eggs feel more supported with the soft substrate.

I will agree with Heather. You have nothing to worry about. Those eggs are fine.

Another good substrate is hatchrite. I bought a bag and have had my incubator set up for 2 months, it still keeps the same humidity% with little to no condensation. It is great i have hatched out leos with already Im just waiting for my blood girl to drop and one of my ball girls to drop.

Wow; the condensation in my tubs is minimal now. It is a fine "spray" that is not dripping; compared to the huge dripping drops that formed when I had the overwatered perlite under eggcrate!
I love this vermiculite compared to the horrobly powdery stuff I had before; this is nice and big and chunky.
