Update!!!

Hey Everyone! Thanks so much for all of your help during this happy time of owning a brand new ball python! I just wanted to post some pictures and let everyone know how my husbandry is!

My humidity is right at 65-67% and my temperature on the warm side is about 95 and on the cool side about 78 degrees. Is this good? I also got two hides about the exact same size and put one on the cool side and one on the warm side. There is a water bowl and a branch thing that he has explored on before!

I am going to try and feed him again on Friday when i get a Live pinky or fuzzy. So we will see how that goes! I haven't handled him since Tuesday and I am not going to until he starts eating... I am trying to reverse anything that i may have done so far! I was handling him for about 5 minuets every day since i had him, but i stopped becuase i saw what everyone was saying.

About feeding, what should I do about feeding him in his cage vs. taking him out and feeding him somewhere else? Any opinions? I just dont want him to mistake me for food!!!!

Even when I joined your link does not link to your pics and looking at the TOS it might not be possible to do so. You possibly have to set the photos to share or something? :confused: then post the invitaiton link - but I'm just guessing at that.:(

No one can tell you what to do about feeding your snake, but I can share with you that I feed all of mine in their enclosures and haven't been mistaken for food yet. Except for one time, and that was because I was stupid enough to feed a snake 2 mice, and then reach in to change the water bowl out.

Ok, i'll try and upload them here, except nothing happens once i upload a new picture to this website, the screen turns white. Then when i go to my pictures, or whatever, it says i have no photos. Am i doing something wrong?

What size are the picture you are trying to upload? There seems to be a size (pyisical dimensions not bytes) limit that the server cannot go beyond - to post in the forums the images should really be 800 pixels wide or less anyway and the limit was something like 2261 when I tried it.

But please tell us if that is not applicable to your situation so we can try and track down the problem.

I personally feed in the cage just because as long as your handling him consistently he will not associate opening the cage with eating. Plus the security of using there hide to hunt from I think helps them. I know my guy hasnt left his hide yet to eat. Part of his body stays in and all that comes it is whats necessary to strike and coil.
