Here's a switch... good feeding response
Well today is feeding day, and I was missing a properly sized rat for my pastel. He's pretty darn new, and not to mention just went through a shed (although, it was an easy shed). So, I decided to heat up a F/T Rat. I assumed he would refuse, so as a test I decided to heat it up slightly higher than usual. The rat was warm to the touch, but not overly so.

Sure enough, he took it with relish :D. He is right around a year old and was a live rat feeder up to this point, so I was quite happy with it. A great shed and a his first feed in his new home, so this has been a good week :D.

Great news. What method did you use to thaw out the rat? I have found that thawing out prey items by putting them in plastic bags and submerging them in hot water, is the best way to thaw them.
