    belly marker question
Okay, I posted in an another thread asking what are belly markers. the post was about a poss het pied clutch that had been laid. As of yet no one has answered my question in that thread so im asking here.

In regards to het pieds or pieds, what are belly markers? I've been trying to search the internet about it, but haven't found anything. thanx.

Basically, some people believe in them, some think they are complete nonsense and other's swear by them. I've seen quite a few het piebalds and I would say I believe in them and could influence which ones I buy, but would still mark a poss het as a poss het if selling. I don't have any pics of their bellies, but i'm sure some other members do!

The so-called markers are not conclusive some hets have them some don't (like mine) some normal BP exhibit the same kind markings as well.

Here is an article about the subject http://www.nextworldexotics.com/hghpm.htm

Bottom line the only true maker is the guaranty from a reputable breeder.

thanx guys. after reading (thanx for the link) I think I would rely more and feel better with the guarantee from the breeder than anything else. At this point, the only way Im going to get a pied BP is the breed one, so hence my research and interest into the het pieds.

Remember a het is only as good as the breeder that stands behind it so do take your time, ask for recommendations, research the breeder and so forth before you buy your 100% het pied. Once you've found the right breeder, you can buy with confidence. :)

I agree, hence why Im asking all these questions. As it is, I was looking on Kingsnake classifieds and came across one add, which peaked my interest until I checked the fauna BOI. I had sent him an email prior to checking the board and the response he finally sent me sent up a warning flag so I checked the board. really glad I did. at this point I'm probably going to go with one of the many reputable breeders on this board. Just haven't figured out yet who.
