Eventually he will. Sometimes my BP's will start swallowing, but then they'll back off and nudge the mouse around until they find the head. Even if he continues eating the mouse rear first, it wont really hurt him any, it'll just take him a while longer.

 if it looks like he's moving away from it, you could use some forceps/tweezers and do the 'mouse dance' by gripping the base of the mouses' tail (with the tweezers) and give him a little shake. This mimic's a live mouses' movement and will entice your BP to strike and coil again. Only do this if you are sure that he's moving away. Sometimes my younger BP has to move around a bit to rearrange himself so he can start swallowing from the head easier. My year old female will simply pick up the rat and move it now that she's bigger

Glad to hear that he's eating! :) Sometimes they'll eat the mouse tail-first, which is creepy because the last thing you see is the mouse's face going down the snake's throat. :D

soak it in some warm water and do the dead mouse marionette dance by his hide. That should do it.

Maybe, you can leave it in over night. If it isn't gone by morning, just toss it and try again next week. :)

    Good luck!
