    pre-shed question
hey all. i think my ezmeralda is about to go into shed soon. her eyes look silvery/grey.
i herd this makes then pretty much blind. so do yours when and if u do handle them when this happens.
do the ball pythons seem to constrict/grip you tighter than normal when you handle them?
just wondering if anyone else has this had this happen aswell.
oh and shes only like 2 months old, if that helps anything.

I don't handle them during the shedding process.
Keep in mind that while in shed they feel more vulnerable, and more likely subject to stress so it would be good for you to restrain your handling while in shed.

I pretty much put up a "Do not disturb" sign when they are in shed. That doesn't mean I won't take them out if I need to for cage maintenance, but no recreational handling.

Also be sure to bump up the humidity in the cage during this time. Spray lightly with water, provide a humid hide, etc. You want to try for about 60 to 70 percent humidity.

edit - Many snakes WILL become more defensive while they are in shed also, striking and biting when they may not otherwise. - end edit
