Re: Someone Explain Pastels
I think what is confusing you is the names of them.
There are several different lines of pastels and each has their good and bad points in regards to what you plan on breeding.
Some have a higher amount of blushing while others do not. Just as some tend to hold onto their yellow longer than most.
It really all boils down to what you really intend to do witth them as far as breeding goes.
I would do lots of looking around at different lines that breeders have on their pages and what combos have been done with them. This should give you some ideas.
You can also look back through the last few months on this site and find some similar questions dealing with this subject.
Re: Someone Explain Pastels
Don't get confused by the names and lines you see, but buy the snake you like. There are beautifull and ugly Pastels of every line, so buy the most beautifull Pastels you can find

Ok let me see if I can break it down for ya.
(disclaimer there are exceptions to every rule but what follows is in general)
Lemon: very bright yellow, tends to have great contrast between the black and yellow, ex. http://www.reptilemorphs.com/images/...astel105-L.jpg
Jungle: very broken patterns, loads of blushing, tends to be a little more dirty yellow color. ex

Blonde Pastel: simular to jungels but lack a real yellow appearance they tend to be almost a tan of yellow tan in color.
ex. http://www.boasandballs.com/Photo's/...0pastes%20.jpg
Enchi: I just thought I'd throw this out there. Enchi is a co/dom morph that greatly resembles a pastel and is allot of time referred to as an "Enchi Pastel"
They to carry many of the pastel traits in the skin mutation. How ever Enchi's have green eyes insted of the yellow striped like a pastel and a 4 leaf clover blot on their head.

Re: Someone Explain Pastels
Personally I think the names of pastels get used very loosely. In my mind thay are all pastels and I just look for what I like (Enchi's are definately different). I have blondes, Graziani's, lemons and they are all great so pick what you like and don't pay that much attention to names or lines. Although lines do have differences I think it's become more of an advertising tool. Next World has a great guide http://www.nextworldexotics.com/hgpas.htm which helps you look at different pastels and decide what to look for. I hope that helps a little. I think it's a crime that pastels have lost so much value since most great designer morphs start with pastel. Best of luck!
