    Thermostat question
I am using a heat lamp with a uth. I was looking a getting a Proportional thermostat over the on/off (rancho). Does the Proportional thermostat act like a dimmer to the heat bulb, or will it still turn the light on and off as needed to maintain temp?

I was looking at the Herpstat, so do I just plug it in to a powerstrip than?

Yes, I have a herpstat and would highly recommend it especially for a first time Proportional T-stat. Very user friendly and is a plug and go T-stat. I use it with my GTP and have had no problems thus far!

8B8ll, do you have any trouble with having a heat lamp and a UTH both on a thermostat?

i know with my JC i have issues with ambient temps, i set the hot spot of 93 with a 1 diff, and it'll get up there but then when it turns off the ambients drop alot before it turns back on. just wondering if a proportional t-stat works better using 2 diff heat elements.

right now i just use my JC for warm side and zoomed cheapie for ambients.
