Need suggestions: tough word(s) to define
Long story short: I perform a standarized interview for all candidates coming into my department, designed to test troubleshooting and abstract thinking on the fly. The last question on the interview is "provide me with a dictionary definition for the word 'art'". Muwhahhahaha....
We've got a group of interviews coming of candidates from the same school and are worried that they'll talk about the tough questions (my interview always ranks up there), so I want to get some different words for the candidates "to define" so it's fair.
I came up with "life"; Rick suggested "culture" or "living" instead of life. Anyone else got any ideas? I really want to capture the difficulties people have defining art, especially in a stressful situation like an interview setting...

Hehehe, we have an interviewer that asks how many ping pong balls it takes to fill a 747 to see how the interviewee's think through the process (like if they ask with or without seats, including air cargo, etc). There's no right answer, it's more to see how they use their thought process.
