    Any anime lovers here?
Is anyone here interested, particularly like, or is obsessed *like me* in anime?

I've kinda watched Anime for a good 5 years now, but I wouldn't say that I was obsessed with it. Pretty much the only exposure to anime until recently was stuff that they would put on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim", so we're talking Trigun, Gundam Wing, Full Metal Alchemist,Inuyasha, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Reign, and *gag* Dragon Ball Z.

I watched it ten or so years ago... when Dragonball Z was hawt. Now, quite frankly, I hate it. I've done a lot of animation over the years and have found that anime cuts many corners that are in traditional cartoons. Like in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon, there could be maybe 30+ frames per second, where in anime, there would be 12 or so, which makes it choppy looking to a trained eye. ;) Now I can stand some of the more epic anime, like that movie "Princess Monoke" where the animation is smooth and very detailed. The background in the movie are great too. But stuff like yugioh and mess.... uuugghhh

I know, I'm a traditional animation nerd. :nerd: But hey, if you enjoy it, have fun! :) Nice job on the banner!

I watch Gundam seed from netflix, but mostly I read the mangas. I watched fruit's basket (I love that series too!) discs one and two (of four) on netflix, but then my parents got the DVDs for my birthday, which I love.

I've never actualy read host club, but I heard it's good and I adore Fruits Basket. I reicently bought book seven. *sigh* I wanted to go to A-Kon. . . :( My parents refuse to buy me manga books, but despite that I have:
    HunterxHunter(my first manga ever) #s 1-14, they're really good. my 2nd favorite.
    Fruit's Basket #s 1-7 almost tied w/ HunterxHunter for 2nd.
Naruto #s 1-2 I like watching the show rather than reading the books
.Hack//Legend of Twilight #1 The series seems pretty good so far, I havent read a lot though.
Trigun Maximum #1 My favorite anime series, It's really, really good.

Shows/movies I've watched and like enough to remember off the top of my head-
.Hack//roots- 4 3/4stars. I've watched the first few episodes and it's become my favorite TV show.
Naruto- 4 stars. Really, really good, but you have to start at the begining to really get into it.
    Spirited Away- 4 1/2 stars.
Princess Mononoke- 5stars, my favorite anime movie.
Cat Returns- 5stars, my second favorite anime movie.
Howls Moving Castle- 3 1/2stars, it was pretty good

I collect a little, but I'm pretty picky. I like good animation, a solid plot, and interesting characters which rules out most of them, LOL.

My collection consists of a bit of Ghibli stuff (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa, Pom Poko) as well as Escaflowne (series and movie), Serial Experiments Lain (rich and brilliant mindgame stuff), and Blue Sub 6. Have watched a lot of other stuff and didn't care for most of it...we used to do an anime night once a week here and friends would bring over different stuff so I've seen quite a few things but haven't committed them to memory.

I also have a weakness for AMVs and have lots and lots of those.

I should get around to watching all of Serial Experiments Lain (I have one series of dvd's that I haven't finished).

I recently just finished Full Metal Alchemist. I haven't watched Ghost In the Shell Stand Alone Complex in a while, I'm behind on season 2. Some of my leos are actually named after Cowboy Bebop characters.

Somebody recommended Bleach to me, and I was kinda curious after seeing t shirts and stuff for it in the stores last month.

I never finished Kenshin and I don't think I ever saw all of Great Teacher Onyazuka.
