Room for just one, or for two pythons
I bought two 12 inch long baby ball pythons today, confirmed male and female. We set up an Iris brand tub with vent holes, a hide, water dish, paper towel bottom, tank heater. Can both snakes go into this same bin? It's the 3 gallon and its footprint is about as big as a 10 Gall I suppose.
I have a second bin that is semi-ready and needs nothing more than another hide and its own water dish, and a second thermometer.
On the same subject. If both bins are exactly the same size, shape, vented the same, one water and one hide, same amount of paper towel, do I need a therm/humidity gauge in each one or would just one do it if they are both positioned over the same UTH and side by side.
Re: Room for just one, or for two pythons
Each one needs to be in it's own bin.
I would have a thermometer/hygrometer in each bin, myself.

Wow that was quick. Thanks.
We're super-excited over here. I'm setting up the hides for the second bin right now then. I'll pick up a second hydro/temp digital gauge tomorrow from the store. Should I put two hides in each bin or just one while I am cutting up 'I can't believe its not butter' margarine cups and stuff.
Re: Room for just one, or for two pythons
Haha, yeah, two hides for each bin. Sounds like you are doing a great job!

Just watch the under tank heater, some brands get too hot for plastic, and for you snake for that matter.

This can easily be remedied by getting a THERMOSTAT or at least a rheostat/dimmer to control the heat output of the UTH. That's something she's going to need, no matter what the setup. Otherwise, there's always the chance that the UTH will cook the snake.
:( I learned the hard way with this happening. :( U don't want to go through that like I did. It doesn't matter WHAT kind of setup or UTH you have, ANY heat source needs to be on some form of controller!
