New Substrate, 89% humidity, should I be concerned.

I have had my BP for a few months and he's been doing great. I just cleaned his cage for the first time and put some new substrate (cypress) in. When I brought him home I had the enclosure set up far enough in advance where the cypress had time to dry out. I had the new bag open for about 5 days now and it dried out to a point but is still damp. The humidity is at about 89% and I was wondering if this poses a risk while the substrate drys out. Normally my setup is at 92/80-83/50-60%

Any advice would be great.

If the humidity stays that high for long enough, scale rot can pose a risk. Try to keep his cage ventilated until it dries out some.

Yes, that is too moist for your bp and can lead to an RI/scale rot. I would take it out, leave it out to dry for a little while longer and use newspaper in the meantime.

That's why I change cypress on the weekend :)

I open the cage doors for a few minutes every hour to let the humidity out.

any of the suggestions here will work fine - that humidity level needs to come down ASAP.

I would put him on paper towels for a day ans stick the bedding on a cookie sheet under a high-wattage bulb. I do that if a BP spills a water bowl on the aspen, but the aspen isn't dirty, just needs dried out.

Well it looks like it coming down pretty fast.

I have one of those fluckers thermometers on the side of each one of his hides and the hot side is 50% and the cool is now at 68%. I will keep opening the door from time to time.
