    Dumb Feeding Question
Does the color of the mouse play any role in feeding response? My guy is a good eater/just had perfect shed & bm/ ate 11 days ago/didn't eat while shedding/temps and humidity are the same.

I just recently bought new mice. I went from the f/t small mice to the medium mice. They are black whereas the smalls were white. He smelled it but that was it. Just wondering if color or maybe the size could be throwing him off?

all of mine perfer black headed (hooded?) over plain white. I also think store has something to do with it. Mine always take the ones from one store and don't really like petco rats.

Wow. Well, I heard bp's were picky eaters but didn't think color would be a factor. Thanks. I will check back tomorrow to see if anybody else has experience in this.

I have a couple snakes that will rarely eat with light, so i have to feed them late night or early morining, with the lights off. They are far more likely to take a black or hooded rat than white. In the low levels of light the black provides higher contrast to the light yellow bedding.
