Musk or just pee?

Do BP's musk? I was handling my new one this evening when it suddenly started "peeing". I swear the thing let loose like a german shepherd. I noticed that its vent was a little swollen just before the incident, but no feces came out. Just clear urine and yellowish white urates.

Was I musked or just peed on? :confused:

It sounds like it's just urine. Even though all snakes are capable of musking, I've never heard of a Ball musking on anyone. They'll usually either ball up or strike out when surprised, but it's somewhat common for them to urinate on their owners occasionally.

Believe me, if it was musk you would know. :puke:

:8: HAHA, that happened to my friend once while she was sitting on my sofa and she got so grossed out by it she literally started stripping right there!

My ball pee's on me all the time. I can recognise it before it happen and try to get her on a towel so its easier to clean.

I saw the bulging vent at about the same time my husband said, "Wow, why's it moving around so much?"

As unpleasant as it was, I must say I was impressed at the sheer volume of liquid that came out of that snake. :cool:

I've never seen mine do it. I just find these little white balls around the cage from time to time. I thought no liquid came out at all.

You got pee'd on LOL. Yes they do pass both liquid and solid forms of urine, as well as feces. I've been musked on twice by ball pythons so it does happen, though really rarely. Both times it was with rescues that were VERY stressed, not in top condition and we were assisting them in getting layers of stuck shed off so I figure I deserved to get musked, poor things!

yea i got peed on 3 days ago... i noticed he straighting out and his tali was flattening out. i was like... whoooo got to get to the sink. i put him back in his tank and he left another present for me
