    Finally Ate!
Well, Darty Boy FINALLY ate. mom said he will only eat dead. i poped a live mouse in there (that she claims was too bug) an BAM like a lightning strike. I felt bad a lil but he ate and i love darty more so yay!

    One issue tho, well 2

At first he didnt know what flipping end to eat! he tried butt, side THEN head.

Im worried he has a piece of aspen in his mouth but he dont seem to care should i be worried?

Glad to hear he ate. :)

Sometimes it takes them a couple minutes to figure out which end is easiest to eat first. Somtimes they'll eat it butt-first. It may look harder that way, but they still get it down. Nothing to worry about.

A little bit of aspen isn't going to hurt anything. He's gonna digest bones and gristle and fur....so a bit of aspen will just dissolve with all the rest of that and pass as waste. ;)

EDIT: Another glance at your post...he's got aspen IN his mouth after he's finished eating the mouse? Most likely, he'll rub it out himself. But if, after a couple days (time for the mouse to digest) it's still there...I'd try to get it out myself...very carefully to avoid injury to the mouth. Don't go poking at him with a pointy pair of tweezers or anything....but maybe a small rubber spatula from the kitchen to open his mouth while someone plucks it out with their fingers. And check for any redness or swelling. Most likely though, it's nothing to worry about.

Congrats on him eating. Kelly bought me a new snake 3 weeks ago, she hasn't eaten yet. I'm not worried though. She's an adult female with good weight and doesn't seem to have lost any weight.Let your mom know that he'll be fine. We would like to see pics too!
