Favs parts of feeding phase
My 2 fav parts are:
The initial strike.
And when they are finishing and stick there body straight up and the tail of the feeder is hanging out.
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
Yeah, who doesn't like watching that first strike? I also like how the python gets a hold of its prey.
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
putting a check mark in everyones column on the feeding chart.
i hate rodents and feeding is not my thing, but i really love it when everyone eats. most of the time however, someone is skipping a week due to a shed or some other goofball snake reason. if i get 7 out of 8 i am usually a happy camper. :)
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
I always feel bad for the rodent, even if it's not a very nice one. But....I'm always happy with the strike and wrap....'cause that means my snake is eating and growing and staying healthy. :)
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
I have one fav part about feeding.. The focus before the strike. they lock one and hone in..I'd be intimidated as hell if an animal did that to me.
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
Yea, its all good :hungry:
Sometimes when the mouse is giving my boy a hard time, he'll ratchet up the pressure everytime he feels a kick. Sometimes, he'll even add another coil. There have been a couple of times I thought the mouse was just going to explode.
Re: Favs parts of feeding phase
Though I love watching as the tail slowly slides into the mouth, I have to agree that the best part is everyone eating and the fact that they ALL take F/T. It was a bit of a chore with my little burned rescue but he finally came around, too. This makes it MUCH easier for me :-)
I can't wait to watch my new babies feed for the first time, too. I'm sure that will be a high point in snake feeding for me.

yes!!! i love watching them coil up like they're setting the springs or something! the only thing i don't like about feeding time is that the rats cry. loudly. didn't have that with mice so it didn't really bother me but.... i get kinda sad for a sec. then it goes away. and i wait to see him stand up with a tail hanging out of his mouth! lol!
