    Custom PVC
Hello, I am planning on building some new enclosures. I am wanting to build the new cages out of PVC though. I have read 1 post about some one here that made there own PVC cage but cant find the thread. Is this what I need... http://www.sdplastics.com/pvcx.html or is this the complete wrong thing.
    Thanks

PVCX (AKA sintra) is great to work with. I built a couple racks out of it, and it cuts and glues so easily. I think making cages is a little tougher than racks, but if you want to give it a go for a minimal investment, it is definitely your best bet.

THANK YOU!!! So would you recommend o get the plastic from the site I posted or some where else?

I dont think I would be able to do the whole jig and bending.... so could I use black brackets and just screw it all together? It says it cuts fine.

You should be able to find a plastic distributor in your area, it will likely be cheaper as you won't have to pay shipping costs. What size cages are you planning on making? If they aren't too big, putting gussets on all the joints would probably be plenty. If it is a 4' cage or larger, screwing it together would probably work if the screws are smaller, and the material was thick enough (I'd say at least 3/8"). I would recommend using PVC glue and gussets on all the joints whether you try screws or not. It will hold things together much better than screws alone.

I was thinking about a couple 4 x 2 cages and then wanted to go for something around 6 feet.

How do I go about finding a local distributer?

Try these guys, they're in Phoenix and have sintra on their products page here:

There should be more companies around too of you look hard enough.
