Babies - New and Old (Major Dial-Up Warning!)
Well only a few weeks old that is!
The T Positive Nics 100% Het. Anery Type II that we produced have been doing great and we've also had a few more litters born since then. I figured I would take the opportunity to share photos of all of them at the same time!
After the T Positive Nic surprise, we had a very nice litter from our male Sunglow (from the Burke's Lipstick line) bred to a female triple het. Snow. The babies from this litter have some spectacular coloration - from the normals all the way to the Sunglows! And, everything is also 50% possible het. Snow so that's a nice little bonus too.
Then just a couple of days ago, we had two litters born on the same morning. The first litter was a female Super Hypo that was bred by our male Leopard Boa. I was anticipating this litter because I was very curious to see how the babies would turn out.
Well, mom had a great litter of 21 live, healthy babies, 1 still born, and 1 extremely kinked baby that needed to be euthenized - NO slugs! And, all the babies were born HUGE! There were no runts in the litter at all. I couldn't believe how big these babies turned out! They also all have amazing, intense coloration and very cool patterns, especially on their heads. The best thing about this litter was that ALL the babies are Hypos that are 100% Het. Leopard! No normals, no possible hets., etc. - ya gotta love Super Hypos!
After we finished putting all the babies away, it was 4am and we were beat. We glanced at one of the other females before turning in and saw that she had started giving birth. This was our female Anery bred to one of our male Motleys. Her litter was not as perfect as the earlier one but we still ended up with a few awesome babies. She ended up having 12 live babies - 6 Motleys 100% Het. Anery and 6 Normals 100% Het. Anery, 6 under-developed still borns, and 12 slugs.
Fortunately, mom and all the babies seem to be doing well so I'm definitely not complaining! Some of the Motleys have really nice patterns as well. There's one particular individual that's very dark colored which I think should make for some nice Anery Motleys!
So I would say that we had a pretty good weekend. We've got a few more litters due over the next couple of weeks so I can't wait to see what else pops out. One thing's for sure though - it's starting to get even busier around here!
Since I took a TON of photos, I'm going to break them up into a few different posts.
Here are the updated photos of the T Positive Nics...
