    summerit jobs for teens?
anyone know of any summer jobs available in the denver/aurora/centennial area of Colorado? It can relate to reptiles but anything else works too, I need a summer job, I could work days and weekends. So if you have any openings at your jobs PM me or something, because I need a job.

I am fourteen, a guy, have knowledge of how to use computers, not advanced but can definitely use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and could organize contact info, good at math and writing and science(2 years ahead of class). Any type of job. So hit me up.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

yea I may end up doing that but I would like to have a "steady job" at least for the summer, because when you mow lawns sometimes you make a lot of money one week and then barely any the next week so I like to know what I can make... but just throwin it out there

check : www.parcplace.org and then in the search part write "jobs" just to give you a heads up many herp related jobs require experience to land them ( so basically you need experience to get experience) there are alot of people searching for summer jobs. I would say your best bet would be to try and find some work at a local petstore, even if it is just cleaning rat cages it gets you some basic experience that you can build off of. Thats how i started. when i was your age i was workin at a friut stand. Good luck.

If your interested in IT one of the best places you can start is with your local school technology dept. Granted they may not start you out directly with pay...but you never know. If you can get an internship through school or even volunteer and you prove your work ethic (knowledge can come with experience) you will be in good shape.

I started into the field working for my local school district. I was in 11th grade and taking a vocational course on Information Systems Technology. The opportunity for summer work came up and I jumped at it. Now over 10yrs later here I am still doing IT for public education.

Be aware of the state of schools right now and the lack of money, don't be discouraged if they can't hire you...its just how things are right now. If your really interested in the field though and work it in between mowing lawns I can't stress enough how beneficial volunteering can be. You will learn new things and you can still put it on a resume.
