Tub sizes vs actual capacity
I was wondering if when someone says a 12qt tub is it actually 12 qts? because it says a 6qt is 14 1/2"L x 8"W x 4 5/8"H and on a tank capacity calculator it turns out to be ~2.3099 and 6qts is 1.5 gallons isn't it?
rubbermaid is 3.3x8x6.5in which is ~2.99 qts still not correct.
maybe I am forgetting how many qts are in a gallon i thought 4
tub sizes here:

and

I am wondering because when I measuered my tub sizes on a tank calculator it said ~3gallons which is 12 qts. my tank is 13x9x6 and I want a baby ball is this too small?
So how do they measure it?
Re: Tub sizes vs actual capacity
If memory serves when storage tubs first came out they used a measurement of usable space not actual capacity (they had handles that got in the way and such) and not the actual volume and it just sort of stuck.
The tub you have will work for a young Ball Python...at about a year you will want to move them up to a 28qt and any snake over 1500 grams would do best in a 41qt.
Hope this helps.
