    My new lil rescue
I found this lil guy on the side of the road. his eye was swollen shut so i took him in to care for him. im on my second day of caring for the little guy he can fly but not to well and when he does fly he flys for like 10 seconds and then comes right back to me. he was sitting o nthe side of a very busy street. i walked passed him and was like hmmm is that real so i picked it up to investigate and sure enough he was real

I'm assuming it's an eastern gold finch my states bird. but this is the first one i have actully seen in my location of new jersey. any advice or any other info would be greatly appreciated i got him eating a soupy bird mix out of a syringe since he hasnt eaten the seed i gave him. hes also a feldgling as you can see by his size. but he still has his baby down feathers and hes sooooo cute i do plan on releasing him once hes healed and flying.

he's so adorable! sorry, don't know anything about taking care of him... is there a wildlife service or something you could call? my cousin found a baby hawk and the DNR was going to come out in the morning to look at it and maybe take it with them, but it didn't make it through the night.

that's awesome! if that is a goldfinch i've never seen one with such a large mask, but good luck with that little one, you're going to need it. in my experience caring for baby birds is tough, but I'm sure there will be some decent info about it somewhere, maybe under bird rehab or something, I honestly don't know. But it seems like you've gotten a good start. Again, good luck
