one more quick question.

i bought one of these when i got my BP..

i've had the little sensor thing in its cage to see the temps.. does the whole device need to be in the cage to get a reading on the humidity though? i'm still not 100% sure on how it works

yes, the humidity sensor is on the unit. the probe only reads temps. put the unit in the front of the rack or the cool side of the tank. put the probe on the hot side, you can read both temps at once this way.
