A mouse or a rat? I didn't think mice really bite, could be wrong

Put a little neosporin on the wound once a day. Depending on how big the wound is, you may want to keep your snake on paper towels until it starts to heal.

allright thanks guys, well i cant seem to switch them over to frozen and they only eat live. so i was watching the whole time and he missed and grabed the tail and before i could do anything the mouse bit him. its not a very big wound but to make matters worse i found mites on him and i dont want them to get in the wound. I have never had mites before and those little things creep me out. what do they do to the snakes? suck the blood. and i do have spray, the person who i got the snakes from hooked me up with prevent a mite but i have not heard from him. how do you use it? and will this wound make a difference?

The neosporin should be sufficient to protect your snake from mites, but the Provent-a-mite should kill them pretty fast anyway. Just follow the directions on the can. Don't apply directly to your snake! The residual affect is what kills the mites and their eggs.
