    installing thermometer
how should i put the thermometer,i have 2 they has a probe and is digital and 1 digital w/o probe, how do i install it to read the warm side, cool side, and ambient temperature. Should i just put the probe fairly close to the ground, or under the newspaper substrate(for now) or what, PS i have an UTH. Also one last question how much newspaper should i use for my baby ball python in a 20 gallon regular tank, 1 layer, 2, or more

Put the probe under the warm hide on top the substrate. You need the temps where the python will be laying. 2 layers of newspaper can hide more heat than you think. As for the cool side, place the unit on the ground behind the hide. It should be around the same temp as under the hide.
