    Lemon, VPI, Graziani?
Ok, I'm sure there's someone that can explain the difference in the different lines of pastels. What are the more obvious traits that makes each one that line? Also what are the subtle traits that you can look at closer and see?

I know this is easier to tell with the higher quality snakes, but what about the others that aren't as high quality?

From what I've seen, Lemon Pastels are bright yellow with a lot of contrast. That's why I bought Lemons :) Graziani Pastels usually have tons of blushing, but they can have this brownish color. I have not seen enough VPI Pastels to tell you anything about them. After all, all pastels can be very yellow and have very much blushing. So just buy the most beautifull Pastel you can find. It doesn't matter if it's a Lemon, VPI or Graziani.

And don't forget the blonde pastels also - from what little I've seen of them, they seem to hold their color very well as well!

Mike's in love with the Blonde Pastels. Once he saw one of Eric Erb's blondes that was it for him. :)

I'm not really looking to buy. I have a female and male pastel. I just want to be able to identify them if I see pics and know what line mine are from. After all if I make babies, and the buyer wants to know, I should be able to tell them at least what line the sire and dame are from.

You can't be 100% sure what line they are just by looking at them...

Did you ask the breeder what line they were? That's your best bet! :)

I would but it was a weird deal where I got the snake through the shop, but they just sold it. I think it was a partnership kind of deal where the breeder I went to loaned his male/female to the other guy or vise versa.

I just was hoping that there was a way to actually be able to tell. I have "The Complete Ball Python" but it really doesn't break it down like I wanted.

Sounds like there really is no sure way to know. After all the breeder could just tell you what you want to here.

    Thanks anyway.
